The BGET White Goods Fund is now open.
The White Goods Fund is an initiative which will help prevent customers in fuel poverty running up high energy bills from using old inefficient appliances.
Both British Gas customers and non-British Gas Customers can apply through British Gas and through the British Gas Energy Trust Funded Organisations. At British Gas, the customer must have been in receipt of the Warm Home Discount (WHD) in the last 12 months, on the Priority Services Register (PSR), have a pre-payment meter (PPM) or indicate to be on benefits. In all cases the customer must be at risk or in fuel poverty.
The following items are available via the White Goods Fund:
• Under-counter Fridges
• Under-counter Freezers
• Fridge-Freezers
• Cookers (electric only)
• Washing machines
• Tumble Dryers (only in exceptional circumstances)
Customers who meet the eligibility criteria can only receive one item per Warm Home Discount scheme year (current scheme year runs from April 2025 to March 2026).
Once a request has been submitted, the customer will receive a call from our chosen supplier, The Furnishing Service within 48 hours to arrange a suitable time and date for delivery of the appliance. The supplier will install the new item and remove the old appliance should they have one. Orders will be cancelled after 14 days where the supplier has been unable to contact the customer.
Please ensure the customer has the correct fittings at the property prior to submitting a request. Our supplier will not install appliances where the correct fittings are not in place and the order will be cancelled.
If the customer lives in rented accommodation, they must confirm they are responsible for their kitchen appliances OR they have authorisation from their landlord to remove the old appliance.
If you have any queries relating to an order, please contact The Furnishing Service on 01355 433 160.
